A Peek Into the Western Culture: Exploring Woke Movement

Few year back the when I heard that US passed bill that allowed same sex couple to get married, like every person who supported the lgbt community, I was happy and excited. I thought, finally there is some equality for the lgbt. The BLM projected same idea of equality and safety as the lgbt movement but for certain race of people. Presently, there are activist group for everything including obese individuals, vegans etc.

But, something changed, that altered the core objective of these groups. For example, today, lgbt is no longer about the sexuality (whom your attracted to) and equality of a person but about their pronouns, inclusion and political correctness. They mixed sexuality with politics and gender and we know it as the 'woke' culture.  As time went on, woke included race, physical appearance, where a person is born and many more is being added. As a result of the 'wokeness' the core ideas of these groups changed and they started focusing very intensely on one thing, crucify anyone who have a different opinion than them.

What is the HISTORY

The history of woke culture goes way back to Karl Marx who is the author of 2 famous books, Das Kapital and The Communist Manifesto. You may have heard the word "Marxism"; it is derived from the works of Karl Marx. Marx separate the world into two economic classes - the proletariat (those who earns a wage) and the bourgeoisie (those who owns the means of production). Marx believed that the proletariat is exploited by the bourgeoisie and the only way to solve this issue is to revolutionize the workers. He believed in the abolishment of private property and inheritance and the centralization of communication, credit and transport. Basically, he believed that the state should own and control everything. Every country that touched this idea basically got ruined. Every time they apply this idea, there is economic collapse, famine and pure societal tragedy.  Some examples of this is the Soviet Union, North Korea, Cambodia and so on. In Germany, they had a different idea than Karl Marx. They formed a group called 'the Frankford School". The group basically changed the Marxist idea from roots out and came up with something called racial group. They used racial groups to tear down the United States and the capitalist system. They suggested that racial groups are the victims of capitalism and posed racial groups against the racial group. The idea was to attack the cultural underpinning of western society and it is called neo-Marxism.

The Frankfurt School managed to successfully bring neo-Marxism to the universities of United States and infect it with cultural Marxism (neo-Marxism). This is one of the most contributing factors how American culture, especially universities, become so infected by the idea like race, gender and oppression.

Now, there is one more idea that contributed to what is happening in the western world. In fact, it is the biggest offender on what affect western culture today, post-modernism. The founders of the idea are Marxist. One of the idea that post-modernism puts forward is that there is no universal truth. The term can completely discard your idea of what reality is and projects that everything you see and interpret is shackled by your own subjectivity. Post-modernism is basically an assault on critical and rational thinking. Today, we just know it as 'woke'

What is the PRESCENT

It is true that there are many different ways to interpret any one thing but the key is there isn't innumerable viable ways. Science and critical thinking got us where we are today and we need hierarchy of knowledge and values, without that there will be chaos. During my research I came across Paulo Ferrari, a Brazilian Marxist, who said  an interesting quote "the point of a thorough education is conscientization". It mean the ability to recognize the structural reality of our lives, being able to recognize dehumanizing forms such as structural racism, sexism, CIS heteronormativity, ableism and oppression of all means. To take an example from todays culture, university professors indoctrinating students to see injustice, in other words, students see the injustice of the world because they are trained to do that, in fact, they not only see injustice everywhere they can't see the world in any other way. This gets us to critical race theory which is rooted in critical theory that says most important thing about you is your race, not your skills, values, personality or anything that makes you, you. It also suggests that minority groups are automatically victims. The other side of it is that, if you are a white person you are an exploiter regardless of your action. It makes you see everything through a lens which might be race, gender or any other social terms. It is the ultimate psychological virus that effects a society and spreads very, very fast.

Universities are the main culprit here, they produce individuals who see nothing but their own believes and ideas of the world even when it is wrong. One might argue that there is very few number of such "blue haired" activist with such views but reality is that a vast majority of students are effected by this. The actual role of an educational institution is to teach the students to form their own values and ideas of the world by accepting and understanding that it might or might not be right. In other words, their believes will be different from others. These institutions are also meant to teach individuals how things works, why are things the way it is, they are meant to teach culture and about people etc. One thing to notice is that the ideology of these universities are passes on to students and these students after graduation with no real world experience go back to these institutions as professors and the cycles continues. Which is why when you see a university student everything you say and do considered as micro-aggression, it is because they are fed these ideas of the past generation mixed with their own, so everything is about their own believes. One current example I can give is the lgbt movement. One goal of this movement is to confuse the truth because they believe it to be a brick in the patriarchal construction that can be interpreted in an unlimited number of ways, none of which are more accurate than the others which is why we often hear them say "who are you to tell me that I am born as a man" or "a women is someone who identifies as a women" and all of the instances demonstrate how marxism is the source of both of these concepts. It is the pitting of the oppressor and the oppressed, the proletariat and the bourgeoisie and now the white vs the black, the gay vs the straight, men vs the women. Everything is seen through the lens of power.

There are people like Jordon Peterson who takes these really intense and complicated ideas and compress them and discuss it with people to spread the meaning and ideas behind these movements. On the other hand post modernist will take an extremally simple idea and makes them complicated because of their believe that there is no one correct way to describe anything.

What is the FUTURE

I think that the future is still bright. People will eventually move away from these ideas. As mentioned earlier universities are basically the starting point of post-modernism but eventually as technology and access to information develops people will understand the truth.  Universities are becoming more and more expensive and university education is no longer the basis to achieving a successful life, this will help people to start thinking on their own and walk away from the concepts of woke movement. The movement is at the point where people are no longer tolerating these unreal ideas and they started responding, starting from parents going to school boards and social media personalities debunking these woke ideas. Governments and companies started making decisions that oppose woke culture. So, I say there is still hope for western society.
